The Shubenacadie River..

Tidal bore rafting has been a true Nova Scotian experience since the first rafting outfitter opened on the banks of the Shubenacadie river in the late 1980’s.The Shubenacadie is one of the largest rivers in Nova Scotia! It receives its great waves from the incoming tide of the Bay of Fundy clashing with the natural out going currents. Tidal bore rafting is a different adventure compared to the whitewater rivers many had experienced in other provinces. As rafting grew in popularity more outfits popped up along the river to match demand.

How it started..

Emmett Blois, Owner and operator of River Wranglers, first started on the river as a guide. Emmett spent many days riding the river with clients, showing people the beauty of the water, the waves and the landscape. In 2013 Emmett started his own business with the goal of providing the best tidal bore rafting experience on the river. River Wranglers first launched out from the Gosse Bridge. As a result, everyday Emmett would haul boats and equipment from Gore county down to the banks of the Shubenacadie. Over time River Wranglers grew as more people wanted to experience the joys of rafting on a tidal river. The demand for more rafts increased as summer brought people to the area to enjoy the river.

Where we are today..

As a result, River Wranglers now operates out of our own riverside site just across from where we started! The Shubenacadie river sees thousands of visitors throughout the summer for rafting, mud sliding and tidal bore viewing. Our location is ideal for catching great waves, mud sliding, spotting eagles and more! We aim to make your time on the river the best experience possible ! Come join us for a tour, experience rafting and the stunning landscape that is the Shubenacadie River.
